Recently, the pile foundation construction of Chongqing East Station Comprehensive Transportation Hub Project is hot.As the first transportation hub new city in Chongqing, the project is a major support to promote the Chengdu-Chongqing double-decker economic circle to become the country’s premier economic center, science and technology innovation center, whether in the people’s livelihood, or economic level are very important strategic significance.

The construction of Chongqing East Station Hub New City is a complex system project with complicated geology, strict requirements and a tight schedule, with more than 20 construction units in the whole area and more than 20,000 builders in the area during the peak period. More than 30 XCMG rotary drilling rigs were present at the same time, accounting for nearly 70% of the project equipment.

Cheng, the customer of this project, has many XCMG rotary drilling rigs, and in order to participate in the construction of the pile foundation of Chongqing East Station, he proposed 4 more rotary drilling rigs, which shows the important position of this project in the hearts of Chongqing people.

The pile holes with a diameter of 1.5m|5ft and a drilling depth of 20m|66ft need to be drilled in the sandstone and limestone strata to facilitate the later concrete filling. The XCMG rotary drilling rig was in tough competition. The pile construction needed to go through many procedures such as positioning survey, drilling into the hole, clearing the hole and checking the quality of the hole, etc. The XCMG rotary drilling rig showed excellent performance, drilling and dumping the soil in one go, and completed 3 piles on average per day, one pile in 7-8 hours on average, and the quality of the completed piles was excellent.

In addition to the overall improvement in construction efficiency, XCMG Foundation has made comprehensive improvements to the rotary drilling rigs involved in this construction around energy saving and efficiency enhancement, so that the construction cost of rotary drilling put into this project by the customer has been effectively controlled under the situation of rising oil price!
