The Construction of Wuhan Twin Lakes Tunnel in Full Swing Assisted by XCMG Trench Cutter and Rotary Drilling Rig

The Wuhan Twin Lakes Tunnel, with a total length of 19 kilometers and a maximum diameter of 15.5m|50.9ft, has the largest diameter among urban underwater tunnels in China and is so far the longest and largest in the world. Furthermore, the limestone at the construction site is with hardness up to 130MPa, and the hard rock entering depth of 20m|65.6ft. The project requires a groove depth of 30m|98.4ft, so milling and cutting hard rock has become one of the major difficulties in pile foundation construction for this project.
